Do You Have Pain?

Whether it’s aching, sharp, dull, burning, stabbing, pounding, throbbing or shooting–pain is a warning sign that something’s wrong in your body.

When it comes to pain management and relief, Chiropractic is the most widely known form of licensed alternative medicine. The word “chiropractic” literally means “done by hand.” In practice, this translates to Chiropractic manipulation of the spine and joints to help relieve pain and stiffness, improving the function of the associated nerves, joints and muscles.

Through regular chiropractic care, many of our patients have successfully found lasting relief from pain (including back pain, neck pain, headaches and other common conditions) in a short amount of time.

Back Pain

Although our chiropractors care for more than just back pain, many patients come to us looking for relief from this pervasive condition. In fact, 31 million Americans experience low-back pain at any given time.

A few interesting facts about back pain:

  • One-half of all working Americans admit to having back pain symptoms each year.
  • Back pain is one of the most common reasons for missed work. In fact, back pain is the second most common reason for visits to the doctor’s office, outnumbered only by upper-respiratory infections.
  • Most cases of back pain are mechanical or non-organic—meaning they are not caused by serious conditions, such as inflammatory arthritis, infection, fracture or cancer.
  • Americans spend at least $50 billion each year on back pain—and that’s just for the more easily identified costs.
  • Experts estimate that as many as 80% of the population will experience a back problem at some time in our lives.

In a May 2009 article, Consumer Reports conducted a survey of more than 14,000 consumers suffering from back pain. Their finding was that chiropractic rates #1 in effectiveness and consumer satisfaction among the various hands-on treatments for back pain!

Woman with headacheHeadaches

If you suffer from headaches, you’re not alone. Nine out of ten Americans suffer from headaches. Some are occasional, some frequent, some are dull and throbbing, and some cause debilitating pain and nausea.

If you are looking for an alternative to popping pills or simply lying down and hoping for the pain to go away, consider giving chiropractic a try! Research has shown that spinal manipulation – the primary form of care provided by doctors of chiropractic – may be an effective treatment option for tension headaches and headaches that originate in the neck.

Car AccidentAuto Accidents & Injuries

If you have been in an auto accident or suffered an injury at the workplace, we can help. An accident or injury can turn your world upside down, and dealing with all the problems that arise can be extremely stressful.

You need to have your spine checked by a doctor of chiropractic if you have ever been in an accident or suffered a trauma. Did you know that some injuries can go undetected for months or even years? Even if your pain or symptoms diminish, any subluxations created in your spine during a trauma can remain in your body and prevent you from healing properly. This may be the reason why over half of accident victims never completely recover from their injuries and may live on painkillers, physical therapy or even repeated surgery for years. Many are even told that they willl have to live in pain for the rest of their lives!

While many chiropractors focus merely on eliminating your pain and symptoms, our doctors focus on finding the cause of your ailment, correcting it, restoring your body to optimum health, and teaching you how to maintain total wellness throughout your entire life. Best of all, this is achieved naturally without the use of drugs or invasive surgery. Wang Family Chiropractic’s caring and supportive staff can also assist you with billing questions and insurance issues.
